At Oticon, our goal is to provide the most natural hearing experience in the world for people with hearing loss by optimally supporting the brain.
At the heart of Oticon’s BrainHearing™ technology are three industry-leading MoreSound technologies: MoreSound Amplifier™, MoreSound Intelligence™, and MoreSound Optimizer™.
When we combine our technologies inside world-class hearing solutions and place them on real people’s ears, we bring proven BrainHearing benefits – adding more with each new technology generation.
Deep Neural Network 2.0
Fuller, cleaner, more precise sound
Oticon’s latest built-in artificial intelligence technology is called Deep Neural Network (DNN) 2.0. It is part of MSI 3.0, where it supports the brain’s natural way of processing sound by providing the full sound environment in higher clarity than ever. DNN 2.0 ensures a more natural representation of all sounds in easy and difficult environments.
A greater diversity of sound samples
After the first Deep Neural Network was trained on 12 million sound scenes recorded in the real world, we've used an even greater diversity of sound samples to train DNN 2.0. Most are challenging and complex, so DNN 2.0 has learned even better strategies to help clients in real-world complex environments.
The result is cleaner sound, greater precision, better noise suppression, and advanced preservation of the original sound. What’s more, our DNN 2.0 is always on, giving clearer speech from all around the user, every second of every day.2
4D Sensor technology
Fuelling the sound processing in Oticon Intent™
For Oticon Intent, the combined forces of the world’s first 4D user intent sensors together with DNN 2.0 enables MSI 3.0 to bring users the full sound scene in much higher clarity and balance in any situation than ever before2. What’s more, it seamlessly adapts to the user’s specific listening needs. This means individualised help based on the situation and the user’s intention, for significantly improved speech comprehension1 – a powerful result of our continual improvement.
MoreSound Amplifier™ 3.0
A proven foundation for better fittings
MoreSound Amplifier (MSA) 3.0 provides the foundation of all hearing aid fittings: audibility. By making people’s voices and all other meaningful sounds audible and comfortable, the user can achieve what all humans ultimately strive towards: effective communication with each other.
MSA works to provide your clients with precise and balanced amplification of all meaningful sounds. Our latest generation of this feature gives users a fuller sound scene with a richer representation of the environment, over a frequency range spanning from 80 Hz all the way up to 10,000 Hz.
Wind & Handling Stabilizer
The world’s first wind and handling noise prevention feature
The Wind & Handling Stabilizer detects and filters wind and handling noise 500 times per second. By selecting the microphone with the cleanest sound input, it prevents disruptive sounds from entering the system. Then it efficiently attenuates the remaining wind and handling noise from the other microphone only in the frequencies affected by the noise.
SuddenSound Stabilizer
Instant and precise balancing of sudden sounds
Disruptive soft and loud sounds such as clicking keyboards and slamming doors are everywhere, and they need to be handled correctly. Rather than removing them and treating them as noise, we balance them, because they are meaningful and help the user understand the environment around them. SuddenSound Stabilizer as part of MoreSound Amplifier 3.0 quickly and precisely detects when sudden sounds occur, provides the appropriate and personalised gain adjustment, and then immediately releases the gain again when the sound ends.
What’s more, SuddenSound Stabilizer can handle more than 500,000 sudden sounds daily. Presenting sudden sounds to users in a more balanced way reduces listening effort by 22%3, helps maintain speech understanding, and helps keep your clients engaged4.
MoreSound Optimizer™
Maximizes listening comfort
MoreSound Optimizer (MSO) gives a consistent hearing experience through real feedback prevention. It enables optimal gain throughout the day in the real world – not just in a quiet clinic – even as users move their head and neck areas or place objects around their ears.
MSO proactively detects and prevents feedback without sacrificing gain thanks to a unique and patented Spectro Temporal Modulation technology that creates a breaker-signal to stop audible feedback before it happens. It is instrumental in preventing invisible gain drops and providing optimal gain all day, so that the gain prescribed is the gain given. This gives users improved access to speech details with more natural sound, increased comfort, and improved speech understanding5 — even in the most dynamic environments.
A purpose-built processing platform
With the Sirius™ chipset, hearing aid users get our most powerful and intelligent platform ever. Purpose-built for hearing aids, Sirius features our embedded, always-on, next-generation DNN 2.0. Its high processing capacity powers the groundbreaking technologies in Oticon Intent and Oticon Own SI, and its future-ready specifications ensure Oticon Intent hearing aids can be wirelessly updated with our latest improvements.
Deep Neural Network 2.0 processing
Sirius is a brand-new platform with a chipset that’s purpose-built for hearing aids, complete with our embedded, second-generation DNN for advanced preservation of the original sound, better noise suppression, and more clarity.2
4D Sensor technology
Oticon Intent’s embedded motion sensor detects head and body movements while several acoustic sensors detect sound level, signal-to-noise ratio, and conversation activity. These enable Oticon Intent to combine the different inputs necessary to run the 4D Sensor technology paradigm.
Expanded frequency bandwidth
Sirius brings even lower hearing aid frequencies, with a bandwidth from 80 Hz to 10,000 Hz giving a fuller sound scene for a richer representation of the environment and a better experience when listening to music.
New intelligent miniFIT Detect speaker unit
Sirius supports the new self-calibrating miniFit Detect speaker units in Oticon Intent, which give increased convenience and assurance that your clients will experience precise gain every day while they’re out in the real world.
Future-proof Bluetooth® LE Audio
In Oticon Intent, Sirius supports the connectivity technology of the future: Bluetooth LE Audio, incorporating a standard audio codec for streaming data and sound to and from a variety of devices with greater power efficiency.
Generations ahead with BrainHearing
At Oticon, our journey of discovery and innovation is continuous. We set the bar higher because we refuse to settle for anything less. Each advancement in our product range is built on the latest BrainHearing insights, evolving from each generation to the next.
We don't just advance technology; we also redefine how we demonstrate its benefits. By breaking conventions, we empower hearing aid users to fully engage in life, especially in complex environments where understanding speech remains a challenge.
